Tulsa women's basketball head coach Matilda Mossman announced today the 2020 American Athletic Conference schedule, which features eight home games at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Five teams in The American advanced to postseason play last year, including NCAA Tournament teams UCF and UConn, and WNIT teams Cincinnati, Houston and USF.

Tulsa will begin league play at home against Temple (Jan. 4), before making the trip to Tulane (Jan. 8) and then returning home to host USF (Jan. 12).  The Bulls finished fifth in The American last year with a 19-16 overall record, and advanced to the second round of the WNIT.  The Owls were sixth in the league with an 11-19 mark, while the Green Wave registered 15 victories.

The Golden Hurricane will then make the short trip to face Wichita State (Jan. 15), before traveling to Connecticut to take on six-time American Athletic Conference Champion UConn (Jan. 19).  UConn went 35-3 on the season, including a perfect 16-0 in league play, and advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinals, while WSU registered a 12-18 record.

TU returns home to host ECU (Jan. 21), before making the trip to Dallas to face SMU (Jan. 25), and then closes out the month of January at home against Tulane (Jan. 29).  ECU had 16 wins last season and SMU totaled 11.

Tulsa travels to Memphis (Feb. 1), before returning home to host UCF (Feb. 5) and will then have a week off before playing at Cincinnati (Feb. 12).  The Knights netted a 26-7 overall record, including a 13-3 mark in the league for a second-place finish, but fell to fifth-ranked Arizona State in the NCAA first round.  The Bearcats posted a 24-11 record last season, were 12-4 in league play for third place, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT.  The Tigers posted 11 wins last season.

The Golden Hurricane will then face four teams for the second time on the season with home games against SMU (Feb. 15) and Wichita State (Feb. 23), and road contests at ECU (Feb. 19) and Temple (Feb. 29).

TU will close out the regular season with a home game against Houston (March 2).  The Cougars were 15-16 last year and played in the opening round of the WNIT.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be hosted at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on March 6-9, 2020.

Tulsa's non-conference schedule was announced earlier this year and includes home games against Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas State, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Loyola Marymount and Colorado State; road contests at Abilene Christian, Little Rock, Arkansas, Stetson and UTEP; and games against Western Kentucky and Marquette in the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic in Moraga, California.
