Trio of Golden Hurricane Compete at Norman Open Series Men's 25K

NORMAN, Okla. - Members of the Tulsa Men's Tennis team competed at the Norman Open Series Men's 25K on Sunday at the Oklahoma University Tennis Club. The match is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour and is a single-elimination tournament.

Kody Pearson, Juan Pablo Cenoz, and Ezequiel Santalla all competed in the qualifying draw.

Pearson fell to Alexander Cozbinov of Moldova in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. Santalla would suffer a 6-4, 6-2 defeat to Nathan Ponwith of the United States. After falling in opening set, 6-1, to Toby Boyer of the United States, Cenoz came from behind to force a tiebreak with a 6-0 victory in set two. Cenoz would lose in the third-set tiebreak, 10-2.

The Golden Hurricane return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, as the ITA, the University of Tulsa, and the Tulsa Sports Commission host the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships. The eight-day tournament will take place at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center and the Case Tennis Center at La Fortune Park.
