Tulsa Women’s Hoops Sign Two for 2021-22 Campaign

The Tulsa women's basketball team signed Delanie Crawford and Alyssa Parmer to national letters-of-intent, as announced today by Head Coach Matilda Mossman.
"We definitely went for quality over quantity in this signing class," Mossman said. "We have signed two young ladies who fit our culture, our style of play and our needs for their position on the floor."
Crawford, a 5-10 guard from Piedmont, Oklahoma, is a three-year letterwinner at Piedmont High School. She helped PHS post 46 wins in the last two seasons, as well as claim the Oklahoma Class 5A state championship as a sophomore. Crawford tallied 18.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists as a junior, but the state championship was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. She is an adidas Gauntlet All-America honoree, as well as a three-time VYPE top-100 selection and a Daily Oklahoman Super 5 selection, and has been named the Suburban Conference MVP and Suburban Conference Newcomer of the Year.
"Delanie is an athletic shooter that gives us length on the floor," Mossman said. "She is a true competitor in every sense of the word. Shas has won a State Championship so her expectations are extremely high."
"Delanie is just one of the best competitors that I've ever coached in 20 years, and that says a lot because I've coached a lot of competitive kids," Piedmont High School Head Coach Eric Carr said. "She has an ability to compete at a high level. She does everything with a purpose and a passion, on and off the court. To see her attack the game and practice the way she does is really special. I think her work ethic, her will to win and the way she takes on everything with an attitude that losing and failing are not an option is tremendous. She has a desire, energy and attitude of winning that she will bring with her to Tulsa."
A 5-8 point guard from Oklahoma City, Okla., Parmer is a three-year letterwinner in basketball, including two seasons at Putnam City West and her junior campaign at Putnam City North. Parmer averaged 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.6 assists as a junior, nearly doubling her scoring from her sophomore campaign. She has helped her teams combine for 58 wins in three seasons, including a state runner-up performance as a freshman. Parmer has been an all-conference honoree all three years and was tabbed as the Big 10 Freshman of the Year in 2017-18.
"Alyssa is a combo guard who has a high basketball IQ and is an excellent leader on the court," Mossman said. "She has a calm demeanor, doesn't get rattled and wants the ball in her hands in tough situations."
"This is my first year coaching Alyssa, but she immediately stood out as a leader on and off the court," Putman City North Head Coach Logan Martin said. "Her ability to communicate with her teammates and her athleticism stood out from the beginning. She is a great play maker. Off the court, she is respected by her teammates; they listen to her and respond to her. She will be a great fit at Tulsa and I think she'll make the transition very smoothly."
"Both of these guys make us better on and off the court and we are excited to welcome them to our Hurricane family," Mossman said.
