The Tulsa women's basketball team will face three non-conference teams during the 2020-21 campaign, including road games at Missouri State, Oklahoma State and Saint Louis, and will take on a 20-game home-and-home American Athletic Conference schedule, as announced today by Head Coach Matilda Mossman.

"With all the changes that have happened in the last several months, we are excited to finally be able to release a schedule," Mossman said.  "Now it is about continuing to be vigilant in our attempts to follow safety protocol and remain virus free. We will be challenged in our non-conference schedule, but that will prepare us for a very tough American Athletic Conference schedule. The opportunity to again win a conference championship has had a positive effect on our team."

The Golden Hurricane will start the season at Missouri State (Dec. 5) as TU will take on the Lady Bears, which finished with a 26-4 overall record and a No. 19 rank in the Associated Press poll.  MSU claimed the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship last year and were predicted to maintain that spot in this year's MVC coaches poll.  Missouri State leads the series with Tulsa, 8-7, but it was the Hurricane that captured a 78-72 win in the WNIT First Round in the last meeting during the 2014-15 campaign.

TU will make the trip to Saint Louis to take on the Billikens (Dec. 9), which posted a 19-13 overall record, including a 9-7 mark in the Atlantic 10 for a fourth-place regular season finish last year.  SLU leads the series against TU, 5-3, but TU picked up an 86-75 win in overtime during the 2018-19 campaign in Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane will conclude the non-conference schedule at Oklahoma State (Dec. 13).  The Cowgirls posted a 15-15 overall record, but had just six wins in Big 12 play for an eighth-place finish.  OSU leads the series with TU, 16-5, including a 78-48 win last year in Tulsa.

Tulsa will begin the conference slate with a pair of games in the friendly confines of the Donald W. Reynolds Center, including interstate rival Wichita State (Dec. 16) and UCF (Dec. 19), before traveling to Temple (Dec. 23).  UCF finished second in The American last season with a 20-10 overall mark and an 11-5 record in conference play, while both the Shockers and the Owls tallied 16 wins.  WSU has a 19-4 lead in the series over Tulsa, while UCF has a 12-7 advantage overall.

After a short Christmas break, Tulsa will return home to take on USF (Dec. 30), before a two-game road swing at SMU (Jan. 2) and at Cincinnati (Jan. 6).  The Bearcats claimed the third-best finish in the league with a 22-10 overall record and an 11-5 mark in The American, while the Bulls earned a fourth-place mark last year with a 19-13 record and a 10-6 mark in league play.  SMU captured 13 wins but split with Tulsa as both teams won on their home court last season.  The Bulls have won all seven meetings with Tulsa, while the Mustangs have a 29-19 advantage and the Bearcats have just a 6-5 edge in the series with the Hurricane.

Up next, TU will host Memphis (Jan. 9) and travel to Houston (Jan. 13).  The Tigers recorded 14 victories a year ago, including a win over the Hurricane to take an 11-10 advantage in the all-time series.  The Cougars posted 12 wins last season, but it was Tulsa that captured a 71-64 victory a year ago to give Tulsa an 18-9 lead in the series with UH.

The Golden Hurricane returns home to host both Tulane (Jan. 16) and ECU (Jan. 20).  The Green Wave earned 14 wins, including two over Tulsa last season to take a 23-9 lead in the all-time series.  The Pirates had nine victories a year ago, while TU and ECU each earned a win on their home court to keep the series tied, 12-12.

TU will then take on each conference foe again, including Houston (Feb. 3), SMU (Feb. 6), Temple (Feb. 17) and Cincinnati (Feb. 27) at home, as well as Memphis (Jan. 23), ECU (Jan. 30), Tulane (Feb. 10), USF (Feb. 13) UCF (Feb. 20) and Wichita State (March 2) on the road.
