THE GAME

• This is the 30th meeting between Tulsa and Tulane and the 13th as American Athletic Conference members.

• Tulane is 12-15 on the season  ...  the Green Wave comes into Tuesday's match-up off of a 75-74 win at UCF ... Tulane is currently on a two-game winning streak defeating SMU 80-72, before defeating UCF.

 • This will be the second of two games between Tulsa and Tulane as the Golden Hurricane defeated the Green Wave 67-54 at Tulane on Saturday, Jan. 18.

• Tulane enters the game 4-11 in the American Athletic Conference, while Tulsa is 10-4 in conference play.
 

THE SERIES

• The Hurricane holds the series advantage at 23-6 ... the Hurricane is 13-1 at home against Tulane, 8-4 on the road and 2-1 in neutral site games.

• Tulsa has won the last 6 meetings against the Green Wave including both of last season's meetings.

• Tulsa's last meeting against Tulane came on Jan. 18, 2020 as the Hurricane won 67-54 in New Orleans .

• The last meeting in the Reynolds between the two teams came on Feb. 28, 2019 as the Hurricane won, 72-64.

• The first game between the two teams came in the 1980-81 season as Tulsa defeated Tulane at home with a final of 102-85 in the Oil Capital Classic in Nolan Richardson's inaugural season as head coach.
 

LAST WIN AGAINST THE GREEN WAVE

• The Hurricane took control in the second half shooting 59% on 16-27 from the field, to take down Tulane with a final of 67-54 in Fogelman Arena.

Martins Igbanu led the way for Tulsa tying his season-high with 19 points and adding 6 rebounds ... he tied his career-high in made free-throws knocking down 11 of his 12 attempts.

Brandon Rachal scored 16 points, putting in 12 points in the second half going 7-14 from the field ... adding 7 rebounds and 3 assists ... Jeriah Horne also put in 16 points going 50% (7-14) from the field while grabbing 5 rebounds.

• With 12:51 left in the game, Tulsa used a 10-2 run to extend its lead to 51-40, Tulsa's first double-digit lead of the game ... the Hurricane held the Green Wave to three baskets the final 6:59 of the game forcing Tulane into 35% shooting in the second half.

Darien Jackson came off the bench and scored 8 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and added 4 assists ... for the 4th time this season Elijah Joiner led the Hurricane in rebounds with 7, and for the 9th time he led in assists with 4.

• The Green Wave was led by K.J. Lawson who scored 15 points on 6-16 shooting while bringing in 6 rebounds ...  Teshaun Hightower added in 14 points while Christion Thompson rounded out Tulane's double-digit scorers with 10.
 

SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE

• Tulane was picked to finish 12th in The American Athletic Conference ... Tulane finished last season with a record of 4-27, 0-18  in conference play.

• Tulane is coached by first-year head coach Ron Hunter, who came to Tulane after 8 seasons at Georgie State.

• The Green Wave are 4-11 in conference this season.

• Tulane is 3-6 on the road this year with 2 of their 3 wins coming in conference at Temple and at UCF.

• The Green Wave have three players who average overn10 points a game ... Teshaun Hightower who averages 15.7 points ... K.J. Lawson averages 13.6 points and Christion Thompson who scored 13.5 a game.

• Hightower was named the AAC Player of the Week for last week's performances in Tulane's 2 wins 

• Jordan Walker, Hightower and Lawson have been named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll while Christion Thompson has been selected once.


HURRICANE KEEPS EARNING WEEKLY AWARDS

Martins Igbanu was selected to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll for Feb. 17, the second straight week he was recognized ... he averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds in wins against ECU and USF ... Igbanu had his second double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds against the Pirates.

• Igbanu was named to the AAC weekly honor roll a week earlier (Feb. 10) after averaging 29.5 points, 4 rebounds and one assists at home against UConn and UCF on the road.

• Before that, Tulsa had 3 consecutive American Athletic Conference Players of the Week from Jan. 20 to Feb. 3.

• The latest was Elijah Joiner (Feb. 3) after a 22-point, 5-rebound, 5-assist and buzzer-beating game-winning 3-pointer vs. #23 Wichita State.

• The week before (Jan. 27), Igbanu averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 boards in wins over #20 Memphis and UConn.

• On Jan, 20, Brandon Rachal earned his second weekly honor with 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in road wins at ECU and Tulane.


A TULSA WIN WOULD

• Give Tulsa their 24th victory against Tulane ... extending Tulsa's winning streak against the Green Wave to 7 games.

• Give Tulsa a 5-3 record in the month of February, and improve Tulsa's record in 2020 to 11-4.

• Give the Hurricane their 19th win of the season, and a 11-4 record in conference play. 

• Improve Tulsa's record at home to 14-2 ... give Tulsa its 7th home win in the American Athletic Conference.
