TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
The Tulsa men's tennis team fell on the road at Alabama, 6-1, on Friday night at Roberta Alison Baumgardner Indoor Tennis Facility. The Golden Hurricane have now lost three straight dual matches and drop to 5-3 overall. The Crimson Tide stand at 7-2 on the season.

The doubles point came down to a third-set tiebreak at the No. 3 position. Juan Pablo Cenoz and Stefan Hampe teamed up for just the second time this season vs. Sam Fischer and Alexey Nesterov of Alabama. No one led by more than two games, as the Hurricane duo rallied to force a tiebreak. The Crimson Tide would capture the win and secure the doubles point, 7-6(2).

Tulsa secured its lone doubles win in the top spot, as Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson improved to 4-0 at No. 1 doubles. They won five of the final six games for a 6-3 victory over Patrick Kaukovalta and Zhe Zhou.

TU would make a lineup change in singles, as Ezequiel Santalla moved up to the No. 5 spot, while Boriss Kamdem moved into the No. 6 position. Kamdem would be the lone Hurricane to get on the scoreboard with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jeremy Gschwendtner.

At No. 3 singles, Hampe erased a 4-2 deficit for an early lead over No. 103 Riccardo Roberto. The match would go to a third-set tiebreaker, as Hampe fell 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(7).

Tulsa is set to face its third straight opponent from the SEC in Arkansas (RV) (3-3) on Wednesday, February 19. The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of TU.
