Tulsa Falls to Louisville 3-2 in Extra Inning

Tulsa, Okla. – Alexis Perry capped off a 2-out rally by the Hurricane in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game at 2-2, sending it into extra innings; however, Tulsa fell in the end to the Louisville Cardinals 3-2.
Perry led the way for the Hurricane hitting .500 (2-4), while Gracie Garman picked up her first career hit for Tulsa with a rocket off the third basemen in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Junior Kylie Norwood led off the bottom of the 6th for Tulsa with a pinch-hit solo home run over the right field fence. The blast was the first of her career in the blue and gold, cutting the Cardinals lead to 2-1.
Kassidy Scott (2-3) drew the start for the Hurricane in the circle throwing 1.1 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 run. Chenise Delce (5-3) relieved Scott going 6.2 runs allowing 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 2.
With the Hurricane's back against the wall down 2-1 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, senior Mikayla Whitten singled through the left side. Pinch-hitter Makayla Jackson drew a four pitch walk to put two on for the Hurricane. Perry drove a ball to left field scoring Whitten from second and tying the ball game.
Louisville's Taylor Roby, who picked up the her 4th win of the season, pitched 3 innings for the Cardinals allowing 3 hits and a run. She brought it from the plate as well accounting for the home run in extra innings that gave Louisville their 7th win of the season.
The Cardinals used a 2-out first inning home run by Carmyn Greenwood to take the early 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 8th, Sarah Briers singled up the middle with one out. However, the Cardinals forced a fielder's choice and a line out to end the game.
The Hurricane is back in action on Thursday, March 5, traveling to Miami, Fla. For the FIU Classic. Tulsa will face off against the host, FIU in the Thursday night matchup at 5:00 p.m. (CT).
