Tulsa's seventh-ranked men's soccer team captured a 2-1 win over Temple on Saturday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 10-1 on the season and 5-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls fell to 2-7-2 overall and 0-6 in the league.

"We had to be really patient," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "They played in the back five for much of it and sat deep so we had to move the ball. The guys did a good job with the adjustments we talked about at halftime and it opened up the game. Credit to Temple, I thought they defended well so we had to stay focused. It was a good move by Alex to draw the penalty and then a great header by Til."

The first half ticked off the clock scoreless, but Alex Meinhard drilled a penalty kick into the lower left corner of the net at the 47:33 mark to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later the Owls' Spencer Patton evened the score as he punched in a shot from 18 yards out into the lower right corner.

Til Zinnhardt headed in a corner kick taken by Tom Protzek from six yards out into the center of the net to give TU a 2-1 advantage in the 60^th minute that would end up being the game winner.

Meinhard had a team-best eight shots, while Protzek added three attempts. Alex Lopez logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save.

Tulsa had a 15-4 lead in shots, including an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal, and a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Friday, October 22^nd against Memphis beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium.
