The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at SMU on Sunday afternoon at the Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The Golden Hurricane fell to 6-8-2 on the season and 1-5-1 in the American Athletic Conference, while the Mustangs moved to 10-2-2 overall and 4-1-2 in the league.
Alina Khan put SMU on the board at the 18:23 mark off a combination from Lindsey Whitmore and Mackenzie Rudden, and just over seven minutes later Rudden put the Mustangs up 2-0 for the final score.
Kayla Fernandez had a team-best two shots, while five others had one attempt. Emma Malsy logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up eight saves.
SMU had a 15-7 lead in shots, including a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal, and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, October 28 against Houston beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
