Tulsa Earns Three Top Finishes in Final Day of Head of the Oklahoma
10/3/2021 3:25:00 PM | Rowing
The Tulsa rowers earned three top finishes and medaled seven boats in the final day of racing at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta on the North Canadian River in Oklahoma City, Okla.
"It was a really solid day of racing for the team and a solid weekend overall," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We look at the fall regattas as a way to get our racing back under us. It was a privilege to race tough competition this weekend. What I loved was the way our rowers went after it. We raced a lot of races we don't get to race a lot on the year, but our student-athletes did well. I'm proud of this team but now we will get back to training and work on getting faster."
Johanna Kristof captured a first-place mark in the Varsity 1x with a time of 17:01.56, while Chloe Wild was 13th in a time of 19:08.96 and Kristina Harris was 14th with a time of 19:16.50.
In the Varsity 2-, Madlen Markova and Sarolta Papp recorded a second-place time of 16:57.13, while Anna Shaw and Ermioni Lamprianidou were 2.51 seconds back in third place.
Isabella Musollino, Ermioni Lamprianidou, Anna Shaw, Gabrielle Cook and Robine Van Doorn turned in a top mark with a time of 16:07.13 in the Varsity 4+, while Erica Taylor, Ivanina Petrova, Katherine Stenning, Ashley Johnson and Helena Gutzmer were second overall in a time of 16:24.51.
In the Varsity 4x, Madlen Markova, Johanna Kristof, Karen Undset and Sarolta Papp posted a time of 15:09.65 for first place. The Tulsa 'B' boat, which included Becky Coleman, Bass Andre, Millie Brice and Bobbi Forster, was second with a time of 16:04.14.
TU will conclude the fall season at home on November 6 as the Golden Hurricane hosts the Tulsa Fall Invitational.
