
Tulsa Hosts Creighton in NCAA Second Round Match on Sunday

Tulsa's second-ranked and sixth-seeded men's soccer team plays host to Creighton in the NCAA Championship Second Round on Sunday beginning at 6:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

The Golden Hurricane has a 15-1-1 overall record and won both the regular season and tournament American Athletic Conference titles. Tulsa ranks first in the nation in penalty kicks (1.00), second in won-lost-tied percentage (0.912), sixth in scoring offense (2.47), seventh in goal differential (29), 12th in saves percentage (0.803), 12th in goals-against average (0.745), 13th in total goals (42), 15th in shot accuracy (0.483), 17th in total points (118), 20th in shutout percentage (0.471) and 45th in total assists (34).
Fourteen players have scored a goal for Tulsa, including a team-best 12 goals by Alex Meinhard, seven by Malik Henry-Scott, three goals by both Ben Barkley and Takayoshi Wyatt, and two by Tom Protzek, Austen Schweinert, Henry Sach, Til Zinnhardt, Mariano Fazio and Marcos Moreno, while four others have one score (one goal was an own goal). Alex Lopez has logged 1,426 minutes between the posts, picking up 39 saves for a 0.765 saves percentage and allowing 12 goals for a 0.76 goals-against average.
Creighton has a 9-7-2 overall record, including 2-1 loss to Tulsa to begin the 2021 season, and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship. Diego Gutierrez has a team-best 10 goals, seven assists and 27 points, while Manu Toledano has six scores and nine others have at least one goal. Paul Kruse has logged 1,631 minutes between the posts, picked up 75 saves for a 0.765 saves percentage and five clean sheets, and allowed 23 goals for a 1.27 goals-against average.
Creighton has a 20-11-3 lead in the all-time series over Tulsa.
