IRVING, Texas ––Tulsa men's basketball's Sam Griffin was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll following last week's games against Loyola Marymount and Southern Illinois. It is the second time Griffin has earned a conference honor roll selection this season.
Griffin led the Golden Hurricane in scoring in both games, averaging 18 points while shooting 45-percent from the floor. In Saturday's win against Southern Illinois, Griffin scored 20 points on 55-percent shooting. He also dished out three assists and pulled down two rebounds, and his plus-minus of 10 was second only to Curtis Haywood II. Griffin knocked down a pair of triples in both games last week.
The Hurricane wraps up its three-game homestand with a matchup against Alcorn State on Thursday evening. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+. Tulsa closes the nonconference slate with a pair of neutral-site games against Colorado State in Fort Worth, Texas on Dec. 18, and North Texas in Oklahoma City on Dec. 21.
