Tulsa Men’s Cross-Country Team Ranked 4th in the Nation

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's cross-country team is ranked 4th nationally in the first USTFCCCA poll of the 2021 portion of the season.
 
In the first poll in October, Tulsa was ranked 7th but did not compete during the fall season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Golden Hurricane finished the 2019 cross-country season in 5th place at the NCAA Championships and with 13 lettermen and two All-Americans returning prospects for a bright season was evident.
 
Defending national champion BYU is first in the national poll, followed by Northern Arizona, Arkansas, Tulsa and Oklahoma State. Rounding out the top-10 are #6 Iowa State, Portland, Notre Dame, Washington and Oregon.
 
Tulsa, Oklahoma State and Iowa State were ranked 1-2-3 in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region. The Tulsa women are ranked 6th in the Midwest Region.
 
The Tulsa cross-country teams will open the season at the American Athletic Conference Championship this Saturday at the 4 Mile Creek Resort in Augusta, Kansas. The Hurricane men are seeking their seventh consecutive AAC crown, while the Tulsa women will look to win its third league title and second straight.
