Tulsa Drops Doubleheader to LA Tech

GAME 1 BOX I GAME 2 BOX I SEASON STATS

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa softball team dropped a pair of games to the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters by scores of 3-2 and 10-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Collins Family Softball Complex.

Tulsa fell to 8-7 on the year, while LA Tech improved its season record to 9-12.

In the first game, Tech's Madie Green had all three RBIs for the visitors, including a home run in the top of the 4^th inning and the game winner in the 7^th on a triple. The Hurricane scored its 2 runs in the bottom of the 4^th inning when Aubrey Seaney smashed one past the right field fence for her first home run of the season and Kyndal Pirtle's triple knocked in Tulsa's second run.

Tulsa put its first batter on in the top of the 7^th but was unable equal Tech's run from the top half of the inning, and fell 3-2

In the second contest, the Lady Techsters scored runs in 5 innings for the 10-2 victory. Tech scored 2 runs in the 2^nd and 6^th innings and added 4 more in the 7^th. It was Green again who got Tech off to the hot start with a solo home run to start the 2^nd inning.

LA Tech ended the game with 11 hits, but it was Tulsa's 5 errors that allowed 6 of those to be unearned.

The Hurricane and Lady Techsters will be back on the field Sunday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.

GAME 1
A triple by Louisiana Tech's Madie Green scored the game-winning run in the top of the 7^th for the Lady Techster's 3-2 victory. Green ended the contest with all 3 RBIs for the visitors.

Tech put the first runs on the scoreboard with a 2-run shot to center field by Green in the top of the 4^th to take a 2-0 lead.

The Hurricane responded quickly as Tulsa's Aubrey Seaney opened the bottom half of the inning with a blast over the right center field fence for Tulsa's first run of the game. The next batter, Sarah Briers, singled and after two outs crossed home plate on a triple by Kyndal Pirtle to tie the score at 2-2.

Seaney ended the game with both RBIs on her home run, while Sarah Briers had 2 of Tulsa's 7 hits for the game. Sara Llamas-Howell, who spelled Samantha Pochop in the 4^th inning, pitched 3.1 innings and was credited with the loss.

Tech's Bre Hernandez picked up her 4^th win of the season as she allowed the 2 runs in 7 hits.

GAME 2
The second game of the doubleheader is one to forget for the Golden Hurricane as the Lady Techsters grabbed a 10-2 win.

LA Tech scored runs in the 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, 6^th and 7^th innings. Tech ended the game with 11 hits, but it was Tulsa's 5 errors that allowed 6 unearned runs. Although allowing 9 Tulsa hits, Tech's Audrey Pickett picked up the victory.

For Tulsa, Gracie Jarvis' first career hit knocked in Tulsa's first run of the game in the 6^th inning, while the Hurricane added a run in the 7th when Chenise Delce scored on Alex's Perry's third hit of the game.

Tulsa's Kylee Nash allowed 4 earned runs on 11 hits and struck out 2 batters in the loss.
