A LOOK AHEAD - UCF
• The Hurricane will begin conference play this weekend, April 1-3, at the Collins Family Softball Complex against No. 22 UCF Knights.
• Tulsa will take on the Knights Thursday at 5:00 p.m. ... the series will continue with a double-header on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. ... the series finale will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
• The Knights enter the series with a 24-6 record overall on the season and 4-0 in conference play ... UCF opened conference play sweeping the Houston Cougars, 4-0, at home.
• UCF is led in the circle by Alea White who has drawn 17 starts with a 13-1 record ... from the plate Jazmine Esparza leads the Knights with a .417 batting average, 35 hits and 22 RBIs.
• The Knights are currently ranked 22 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll while being ranked 19 in the D1 Softball poll.
PERRY'S BAT LEAD TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
• Senior third basemen Alexis Perry was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after her play against Louisiana Tech.
• In only eight at bats, Perry connected on 4 hits, while also walking twice ... she recorded a .667 batting average through the weekend.
• With her four hits, the Oklahoma City native, put in 4 RBIs, ending the weekend with a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .750 on base percentage..
• In the field she was as dominant as she was at the place, putting in a 1.000 fielding percentage and recording 5 assists.
FOUR COACHES, FOUR FORMER D1 PLAYERS
• The Hurricane are led by four former Division 1 softball players in head coach Crissy Strimple and assistant coaches Sandra Owens, Paige Parker and MaKenna McGill.
• As a player with the Golden Hurricane, Strimple (02-03) led the team with 10 home runs as a senior ... was the team's Offensive Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons ... she holds the top two single-season assist totals in the Tulsa record book.
• Owens (Smith) enjoyed a successful playing career at Arkansas, where she still owns the program's single-season RBI record with 50 as a senior in 2010.
• Parker played four seasons at the University of Oklahoma, becoming a two-time national champion. During her extraordinary career, she was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team four times, 2016 Female Athlete of the Year and 2015 Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
• McGill played four seasons at Montana, starting 183 games in center field for the Grizzlies ... she was selected as a Second-Team All-Big Sky Conference team three times.
