Kylie Norwood Dominates at Houston is Named AAC Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. – For the third straight week, Kylie Norwood has been named to a American Athletic Conference weekly honor, being named AAC Player of the Week, it was announced today.
 
Norwood led the Hurricane from the plate in a season finale series split against the Houston Cougars this past weekend, May 7-9.
 
The second baseman recorded 6 hits in 13 at bats; 3-of-the-6 hits were extra base hits, as the junior had a double and two home runs. Norwood showed patience from the plate, recording a team-high 4 walks.
 
She finished the weekend with a .462 batting average, scoring 2 runs while driving in 5 RBIs. She recorded a 1.000 slugging percentage and led the team with a .588 on base percentage.
 
From the field, Norwood started every game at second base, tallying 7 put outs and 8 assists while ending the weekend with a .938 field percentage.
 
Norwood's honor is the 13th time that a Hurricane has received American Athletic Conference weekly honors. 
 
Norwood (May 3, Apr. 5 and Apr. 26) , Chenise Delce (March 8, Apr. 5 and Apr. 26),  Samantha Pochop (Apr. 12 and Apr. 19) and Alexis Perry (March 29) are Hurricane players that have been named to the Honor Roll.

The Santa Clarita, Calif. native, joins Perry (Apr. 19) and Haley Morgan (March 8) as the only Hurricane players to be named Player of the Week this season. Pochop is the only Tulsa pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Week by the conference.
 
The Hurricane will begin the American Athletic Conference championship this week taking on the Houston Cougars in the Collins Family Softball Complex on Thursday, May 13 at 5:00 p.m.
