
Norwood and Delce Lead Five Hurricane Players Who Earn All-Conference Honors

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa's Kylie Norwood and Chenise Delce were named to the American Athletic Conference first team, leading 5 Hurricane players named to AAC team honors, as announced by the league office today.
Alexis Perry earned all-conference second-team accolades, while Imani Edwards and Haley Morgan were named to the all-rookie team.
Norwood, a junior from Santa Clarita, Calif., finished the regular season with a .409 batting average with 54 hits, 20 extra base hits and 28 RBIs. She started every game for the Hurricane at second base, leading off for Tulsa while securing a .659 slugging percentage and .480 on base percentage.
This is the second time Delce has been selected to the AAC first team doing so in 2019 as a freshman. She drew 15 starts for the Hurricane this season in the circle, ending the year with a 7-6 record with a save in 83 innings of action. She recorded 99 strikeouts, while allowing just 35 earned runs in her 17 appearances.
From the plate, the Oklahoma City, Okla. native, recorded a .275 batting average on 25 hits with two home runs and 17 RBIs. Delce had a 1.000 fielding percentage with 2 put outs and 5 assists.
After her senior season was cut short due to Covid-19, Alexis Perry came back this season, putting in a .330 batting average with 33 hits in 100 at bats. The third baseman led the Hurricane with 9 home runs on the season and 36 RBIs.
Morgan played 37 of the Hurricane's 39 games in center field while putting in a .327 batting average from the 2-hole. She recorded 33 hits, 17 RBIs and a .436 slugging percentage. The freshman broke the Hurricane all-time single season hit by pitch record with 22 on the season.
The Tomball, Texas native, Edwards, started 34 games from shortstop, third base, right field and designated player for TU. She finished the season with a .283 average, driving in 11 runs on 30 hits. Edwards led the team with 10 stolen bases on the season.
The Hurricane continued the streak of having 2 or more Tulsa players since joining The American selected to the all-conference first team with Norwood and Delce's selection.
Tulsa will play the Houston Cougars in the first round of the American Athletic Conference Championship Thursday, May 13 at 5:00 p.m. in the Collins Family Softball Complex. The first-round matchup will be aired on ESPN+.
