
Rower Michelle Sechser Advances to Olympic Final

TOKYO, Japan –– The University of Tulsa rowing alumnus and U.S. Olympian Michelle Sechser and her teammate Mary Reckford will race on Wednesday night in the "A" Final of the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls. The final "A" race takes place at 8:10 p.m. (CT) from Tokyo, Japan.

Secsher and Reckford advanced to the finals by finishing in second place in the semifinal with a time of 6:41.54. The duo finished behind Italy's tandem that turned in a winning time of 6:41.36

The Final "A" will include teams from Italy, United States, Romania, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands.

Fellow TU alumnus Jenny Casson, representing Canada, will participate in the "B" Final at 7 p.m. (CT).
