Tulsa Golfers Open Season Monday at Samuel P. Golden Invitational

DENTON, Texas –– The Tulsa women's golf team will open the 2021 fall season at the Samuel P. Golden Invitational, Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 13-14, in Denton, Texas. The 54-hole, two-day event will take place at the par-72, 6,288-yard Wildhorse Golf Course at Robson Ranch.
The Hurricane enters the 2021 season after turning in three tournament victories last season, including a win at the American Athletic Conference Championship.
Participating teams include Charlotte, Houston, Kansas State, Missouri, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Purdue, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Tulane, Tulsa, UTSA and host North Texas.
Tulsa returns four letterwinners, led by seniors Lorena Tseng and Haley Greb and junior Lilly Thomas. Tseng has 17 top finishes in 25 career tournaments, including 11 among the top-5 and two tournament titles. Greb had three top-20 finishes last year and Thomas earned all-conference honors in 2021, while placing among the top-25 in four tournaments.
Tseng, Greb and Thomas will be joined by freshmen Lovisa Gunnar and Hanna Robinette at the season-opening event.
Tulsa golfers enjoyed an eventful summer season as Tseng qualified for the U.S. Women's Open and Thomas captured the tournament title at the prestigious LNGA Amateur in a playoff.
