Tulsa Track and Field to Open 2022 in Arkansas

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa indoor track and field team will continue the 2021-22 season on Friday, January 14th at the Arkansas Invitational. Friday's meet will be the second meet of the season after the Hurricane competed in the Wooo Pig Classic back on December 3, also hosted by the Razorbacks.
 
The Hurricane will compete with meet host Arkansas, Alcorn State, Allen CC, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Butler CC, Central Arkansas, Coffeyville, Little Rock, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts.
 
Tulsa has started off the new campaign promising, as Scott Beattie won the 5,000-meter run at the Wooo Pig Classic last month. Beattie is slated to run in the one mile run Friday.
 
Last month at the Wooo Pig Classic, Evan Sanni-Thomas tallied a second-place finish in the 300-meter dash in his Tulsa debut, while Josh Sutton finished top-five in the 60-meter dash. Ben Black finished the 3,000-meter run in fifth place at 8:51.40. Tulsa's 4x400 relay team, Henry Visser, Kyran Lacy, Cameron Conyers, Sanni-Thomas, finished third.
 
The Tulsa women finished with nine top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. Keely Jones placed third in the mile run, just ahead of teammates Chloe McEachern and Sara Scott. Cara Johnson finished 12th in the 60-meter dash while Hannah Booe placed 27th.
 
Running events are slated to start at 3:30 with the men's 3,000-meter run. Field events will start at 12:30 with men's shot put.
