Multiple Tulsa Players Advance To Round Of 32 At ITA Regional Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Tulsa men's tennis team sees four players—Connor Di Marco, Ezequiel Santalla, Timothy Carlsson Seger and Gus Tettamble—advance to the round of 32 Thursday during the ITA Central Regional Championships in Fayetteville.
Tettamble, who played in the opening qualifying round of singles play, took down his opponent Will Blevins of Drake in two sets. He then went on to win by retirement in the third set over Ryoma Mishiro from Nebraska-Omaha. Tettamble will face Jordan Hassan of Oklahoma in the Round of 32.
Santalla and Seger each took their matches to three sets but prevailed over their respective opponents from North Dakota and Arkansas. Santalla will face Francisco Pini of Oklahoma State, while Seger will play Alejandro Garcia from Oklahoma State on Friday.
Di Marco was Tulsa's only victor in the Main Draw to win in two sets, taking a decisive 6-4, 6-4 victory over Quintan Van Wijk. In the Round of 32, he will play Nebraska's Nic Wiedenhorn.
Adham Gaber and Daniel Siddall may have fallen in their matches on Thursday, but they will have another opportunity to play when doubles action starts Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Santalla and Gaber will pair up against Davis Lawley and Hugo Piles of Nebraska-Omaha, while Di Marco and Seger will take on Ignacio Vinas and Ezequiel Monferrer from Oral Roberts. Rounding out doubles play for the Golden Hurricane will be the Siddall-Tettamble duo going up against Roni Hietaranta and Nic Wiedenhorn of Nebraska.
