Tulsa Hoops Participate in The American Virtual Media Day

The American Athletic Conference held virtual media day for men's and women's basketball on Wednesday and Thursday, with Tulsa participating on Thursday.

Tulsa head coach Angie Nelp, along with fifth-year seniors Maddie Bittle and Maya Mayberry, represented the Golden Hurricane women's program.

Nelp is in her second season at the helm of the women's basketball team, which returns seven players from last year's 17-11 and WNIT team, including three starters, while welcoming seven newcomers to this season's roster. The Golden Hurricane was picked to finish fourth in The American Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was announced yesterday.

Bittle and Mayberry were both named to the preseason all-conference second team. The duo added 12.2 ppg and 10.9 ppg, respectively, a year ago, and look to lead TU on and off the court.

TU will open the season at home against Alcorn State on Monday, November 7 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Reynolds Center.
