Four Golden Hurricane Men Finish in Top 20 at Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational

Men’s team takes sixth; women finish 35th

 Four University of Tulsa men's cross-country runners finished in the top 20 of the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Zimmer Championship Course, leading the fifth-ranked Golden Hurricane to a sixth-place finish.
 
Micheal Power (11th) navigated the course 8k championship course in 23:25.2 to pace the Hurricane. Shay McEvoy (23:26.5) was right behind him in 14th, followed by Isaac Akers (23:27.8) and Cormac Dalton (23:28.1) in 19th and 20th.
 
The No. 2 Stanford Cardinal took home the team and individual prize as Ky Robinson won the race. The top-ranked BYU Cougars placed second, followed by defending champions Northern Arizona, and then Air Force and Notre Dame, who came in ranked 12th and 13th respectively.
 
In the women's 6k, Layla Roebke led the Hurricane women with an 102nd place finish in 20:55.8. Chloe Hershenow placed 118th in 20:59.7. The women finished 35h overall.
 
In the men's "B" race, Tulsa had four of its five runners place in the top 50 and placed sixth overall. Freshman Luke Lambert navigated the course in 24:29.7 to place 18th. Christian Baker finished a few seconds later in 24:32.8 for 19th. Ryan Shumaker (35) and Sean Korsmo (46) were the other two to place in the top 50.  
 
Next up for the Tulsa cross country is the American Athletic Conference Championship on Oct. 28, which the Golden Hurricane will host and look to defend its conference titles.
