TULSA, Okla.  ––
The University of Tulsa men's and women's cross-country teams will seek to continue their conference dominance when the Golden Hurricane hosts the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday morning at Mohawk Park.

To get to the race, fans should head as if they were going to the zoo and then follow signage that will direct spectators to parking. The women's 6k will begin at 9:15 a.m. with the men's 8k race set to start at 10. The event will stream on ESPN+.

This is the first time the Hurricane has hosted the conference championships since Tulsa's inaugural season as members of The American in 2014. The Hurricane took home both the men's and women's titles. The men scored 21 points and placed three in the top five, including champion Marc Scott, while the women held a 21-point advantage over second placed UCONN. All seven TU women placed in the top 15.

The Tulsa men seek their ninth-straight championship as members of The American, and 13th in a row dating back to the school's time as members of Conference USA. The women will go for their fourth consecutive title and sixth as AAC members.

The two teams swept the podium a year ago in Lakeland, Fla. The men set a conference record, scoring 19 points to take home the top prize. Scott Beattie took home the individual title, finishing in 23:49.2. Micheal Power and Shay McEvoy finished in fourth and fifth and Chris McLeod placed seventh and took home the Freshman of the Year award.

Not to be outdone, the women recorded a score of 48 to win the championship. Caroline Miller finished fourth to pace the Hurricane. The other six all finished in the top 25, with Chloe Hershenow and Katharina Pesendorfer crossing the line in sixth and seventh respectively.

After the conference championships, the Hurricane cross-country teams will compete in the Midwest Regional on Nov. 11. The NCAA Championship is scheduled for Nov. 19th.
