Tulsa Women’s Basketball Hosted Media Day on Tuesday; Announced Season Promotions

Tulsa women's basketball head coach Angie Nelp, as well as senior Maya Mayberry and sophomore Temira Poindexter, participated in the Tulsa Basketball Media Day on Tuesday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Nelp is in her second season at the helm of the women's basketball team, which returns seven players from last year's 17-11 and WNIT team, including three starters, while welcoming seven newcomers to this season's roster.
Poindexter was a first team American Athletic Conference preseason selection, while Mayberry was a second team honoree. Poindexter, a forward from Sapulpa, Okla., was the 2022 AAC Newcomer of the Year and an all-freshmen team selection and is TU's returning scoring and rebounding leader with 12.3 ppg and 4.6 rpg. Mayberry, a guard from Tulsa, Okla., added 12.2 ppg a year ago.
TU will open the season at home against Alcorn State on Monday, November 7 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Reynolds Center.
The Tulsa basketball team also announced today their game day promotions and ticket promotions for the upcoming 2022-23 women's basketball season.
