Pochop battled her way out of a one-out double in the third, striking out the next batter before Rylee Keith caught the North Texas runner trying to steal third. The Mean Green finally broke through in the fourth with Christensen's first home run of the night, a shot to right center.
Tulsa answered in the bottom of the inning, with a leadoff infield single from Imani Edwards, who advanced to third on a perfectly placed bunt-single by Haley Morgan. Claira Skaggs hit into a 4-6-3 double play, but Edwards scored to tie the game at 1.
The Hurricane took its first lead of the season in the bottom of the fifth. Keith singled to right with one out and then Callie Davis made her first appearance for Tulsa as a pinch runner. She didn't have to stay on the field long as Celeste Wood tripled to left center, picking up the first hit and RBI of her young career.
