Tulsa’s Lilly Thomas in Second Place at Columbia Classic

VIERA, Florida –– Lilly Thomas sits in a three-way tie for second place at the Columbia Classic after turning in a two-round score of 2-under par 142 Sunday at the par-72, 6,383-yard Duran Golf Club.
Thomas had an opening round 74 then shot six strokes better in the afternoon for a score of 68. In second round action, Thomas birdied six holes and her only blemish was a two-over score on the par-5, 475-yard 15th hole.
As a team, the Hurricane is in sixth place with a 594 total in a field that features five teams ranked among the nation's top 30. Tulsa carded rounds of 303 and 291 on the day as the Hurricane counted Thomas' 68, a 72 from Lovisa Gunnar, 75 from Haley Greb and 76 from Sophie Johnson.
Gunnar sits in 23rd place after her rounds of 77 and 72 for a 149, followed by Johnson in 29th place at 151 after rounds of 75 and 76. Greb is in 34th place after scores of 77 and 75 for a 152 total. Lorena Tseng is in 73rd place after her two rounds.
No. 30-ranked Texas Tech leads the way at 580, followed by No. 26 Virginia Tech (582), No. 29 Illinois (583) No. 2 Oklahoma State (584) and No. 28 Georgia (587) rounding out the top-5 teams.
