Tulsa Finishes in 7th Place, Lilly Thomas 6th at Columbia Classic

VIERA, Florida –– The Tulsa women's golf team placed seventh in a strong field at the 14-team Columbia Classic on Tuesday, while junior Lilly Thomas finished in a sixth-place tie individually.

The Hurricane carded a final round 309 for a 903 total at the par-72, 6,383-yard Duran Golf Club. After a two-round 2-under par score heading into the day, Thomas turned in a final round 5-over 77 to finish with a 219 score, five strokes behind the individual medalist.

Virginia Tech claimed the team title with a final round 298 for an 880 total, one stroke better than second place Texas Tech (881).

Tulsa's Lovisa Gunnar shot a final round 78 for a 24^th place total score of 227, while Haley Greb was one stroke back to finish the tournament in 27^th place with a 228 score after carding the best round of the day for Tulsa at 76.

Sophie Johnson finished in 35^th place at 229 and Lorena Tseng was 74^th with a score of 252.

Tulsa will be in action next at the at the Trinity Forest Invitational, March 7-8.
