TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team heads to Philadelphia, Pa. for an American Athletic Conference rematch with the Temple Owls on Saturday.

Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+. Harry Donahue will provide the play-by-play, and Marc Jackson will serve as the analyst for the matchup. Fans can also catch Bruce Howard and J.R. Rollo on Big Country 99.5 FM.

The Golden Hurricane (7-13, 1-8 The American) dropped its first meeting with Temple (12-7, 5-3 AAC) 69-64 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Jan. 12. It was the first time in seven tries the Owls had left the Reynolds Center with a win. The Hurricane is 11-5 in the all-time series and 4-4 in games on the road against Temple.

In the Jan. 12 matchup, LaDavius Draine gave the Hurricane a boost with a 12-point performance, knocking down all four of his 3-point attempts and adding a trio of steals. Rey Idowu scored 14 and Sam Griffin led the way with 15. Tulsa shot just 35 percent for the game but had a chance at the end to even the score. Unfortunately, TU was unable to convert and after knocking down some free throws, Temple escaped with the win.

Tulsa is coming off a 58-48 loss at Wichita State in its last game. Despite holding the Shockers to 32 percent shooting for the game, Tulsa went cold in the second half and was outscored 29-18 after holding a 30-29 lead at the break. The Hurricane knocked down only 26 percent of its shots in the second half and shot below 50 percent from the foul line, contributing to the loss.

Temple has gone 2-1 since the previous game against Tulsa. The Owls went on the road to beat ECU 71-63 in the midweek game. Damian Dunn has continued to play well, leading all scorers with 26 points. Jeremiah Williams added 14 points in the win, and Nick Jourdain led the team in rebounds, pulling down 10.

Tulsa is led by Griffin in scoring, whose 16.2 points per game narrowly surpasses the 16.1 from Jeriah Horne. Horne continues to lead the team with 6.9 rebounds per game and leads the conference by grabbing 5.6 defensive boards a night.

Draine has become a more reliable option from 3-point range as the graduate transfer is shooting 40-percent from beyond the arc. He's knocked down 15 treys, trailing only Griffin (45) and Horne (42) on the team.

Dunn leads the way for Temple with 15.9 points per night. The guard is shooting 40 percent from the field and 35 percent on 3-pointers. Jeremiah Williams just misses out on double figure scoring, averaging 9.9 per game, but has dished out a team-high 88 assists. Jahlil White leads the team in rebounding, averaging 5.5 per game, while Jourdain (4.8), Dunn (4.5) and Jake Forrester (4.0) all grab more than four per game.

Saturday ends a two-game road swing. The Hurricane return to the Reynolds Center for a pair of games against ECU and Cincinnati before returning to the road one last time for a final four-game trip. Tipoff for Tuesday's game against ECU is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN+.
