NGWSD will also be celebrated at women's game
TULSA, Okla. –– The Annual Basketball Legends Day at The University of Tulsa is set for this Saturday, February 12, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Both the women and men will celebrate Legends Day. The women play host to Temple with a 1 p.m. tipoff, while the men's team hosts the Cincinnati Bearcats in a 7 p.m. contest.
The Legends will be recognized at halftime of the respective games.
In addition to the women's game, it will be National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). NGWSD was originally scheduled for last Wednesday, but poor weather conditions postponed the event. Each year, TU celebrates the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports. Tulsa recognizes a female with local ties who has been influential for her support of or involvement in sports. Alicia Conner-Todd is this year's recipient of the NGWSD recognition by Tulsa. Conner-Todd played on the women's basketball teams in the late 1970's at Tulsa. She is a lifetime member of Tulsa's Letterwinner's Association and a member of Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and the Alumni Association.
For game tickets, fans can go online at TulsaHurricane.com or call 918.631.4688. Women's tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the gate, while men's basketball game tickets start at $15.00.
Former TU basketball players interested in attending Legends Day festivities can call 918.631.3347.
