Second Varsity 4+ Earns Second Place Mark at Louisville Cardinal Invitational on Sunday

Tulsa's 2^nd Varsity 4+ earned a second-place finish at the Louisville Cardinal Invitational in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on Sunday morning. TU faced #17 Wisconsin, #RV Clemson and Louisville in the second day of competition.

"It was a great first racing experience for the majority of the team," Interim Head Coach Olivia Staff said. "Each boat made improvements from race to race. We tried a variety of lineups and the team took on each change as a new opportunity to gain speed. We put up some strong performances against ranked teams, and the team is ready to build off the progress made this weekend."

Paloma Probart, Julianna Lynch, Ashley Johnson, Kyra VanderWeele and Vanja Bogdanovic raced the 2^nd Varsity 4+ to a time of 7:48.013, just 7.639 seconds behind the 17^th-ranked Badgers (7:40.374), and crossing the finish line nearly 20 seconds ahead of Louisville (8:07.668).

In the Varsity 8+ race, TU had a competitive race with a time of 6:34.768, trailing top finisher Clemson (6:29.368) by just 5.4 seconds. Wisconsin (6:31.873) and Louisville (6:33.270) also crossed the line ahead of the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa's 2^nd Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and 3^rd Varsity 4+ also recorded fourth-place marks on the day.
