TULSA, Okla. ― Kody Pearson battled back from a one set deficit at No. 1 singles to clinch Tulsa's 4-3 victory over the No. 45 Oregon Ducks Monday night inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The victory marked nine-in-a-row home wins for the Tulsa men's tennis team, who improve to 11-4 on the season.

Pearson secured his ninth singles victory of the spring, and his second consecutive victory over a ranked opponent. It was the second time the Sydney, Australia product has clinched a 4-3 victory for the Hurricane this season (Alabama 2/13).

"We knew it was going to be tough, and that Oregon is a very gritty team," Pearson said. "We stayed strong, and all the hard works paid off. Whatever we did at practice, we are starting to show it in matches and defending at home."

Connor Di Marco, Callum Gale, and Daniel Siddall all secured straight set victories. Di Marco has a team-best 10 singles wins, including five-in-a-row, while Gale and Siddall are both on two-match win streaks.

"I think what you're seeing with this group is that they are a team, they are a unit," head coach Vince Westbrook said. "We are pretty deep, and I feel like these guys have bought into the team concept and trust each other, and you can see that. They work hard together, this groups been together for the last two years, and when we play like this, I think we're pretty tough to beat."

Tulsa will look to continue its four-match win streak on the road this Thursday, taking on LSU in Baton Rouge before squaring off with Tulane on Friday in New Orleans.
