
No. 49 Tulsa Knocks Off No. 17 Middle Tennessee State in Wichita

TULSA, Okla. ― The 49th ranked Tulsa men's tennis team collected its highest ranked win of the season Friday afternoon, knocking off No. 17 Middle Tennessee State 4-2 in a neutral site match in Wichita, Kansas. Tulsa improves to 13-9 this season after posting two wins in the past two days.
Tulsa's tandem of Kody Pearson/Connor Di Marco both posted two ranked victories each, as the duo, who is ranked No. 73 in doubles, downed No. 54 Poulsen/Rocha 6-4 in doubles play. Di Marco, who is 13-4 in singles play this spring, tallied his first ranked win of the dual season with 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 120 Holis. Pearson notched his third ranked win of the year, downing No. 67 Slump 6-1, 6-2, and is on a three-match win streak.
Ezequiel Santalla and Adham Gaber both collected wins in the third set of their respective matches. Santalla won 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while Gaber clinched the victory at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, and claimed Tulsa's second win against a top-20 opponent this season.
The Hurricane will be off tomorrow before hosting Temple at 5 p.m. Sunday and No. 27 SMU Monday night at 5 p.m. for senior night. Admission is free to all Tulsa tennis matches, including next week's American Athletic Conference Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
