No. 49 Tulsa to Play Two in Wichita, Return Home to Host Temple and No. 27 SMU

TULSA, Okla. ― The Tulsa men's tennis team will play four matches in five days, starting tomorrow and running through Monday. The Hurricane play on the road against Wichita State tomorrow before playing No. 17 Middle Tennessee State in Wichita on Friday. TU then returns home to face two AAC foes, Temple on Sunday and No. 27 SMU, on Monday to wrap up the regular season before hosting the American Athletic Conference Tennis Championships from April 20-24.
 
The duo of Kody Pearson/Connor Di Marco checked in the ITA Doubles Rankings this morning for the first time since December. The pair is ranked No. 73 and have posted consecutive wins over the 47th and 29th ranked doubles teams in the country. Pearson is also ranked in the ITA Singles Rankings for a fifth-straight week, moving up nine spots at No. 87.
 
The Hurricane will look to snap its five-match losing streak tomorrow against Wichita State. Tulsa the previous meeting this season against the Shockers, claiming a 4-2 victory on January 29th at the ITA Kickoff in Fort Worth, Texas. The Shockers are 12-11 this season, but 7-1 at home.
 
Tulsa will then play a neutral site match against No. 17 Middle Tennessee State in Wichita. The Blue Raiders are 23-3 on the season and have seven ranked wins so far. Middle Tennessee State will be the third-highest ranked opponent Tulsa has faced this season (No. 4 TCU, No. 3 Baylor).
 
To wrap up the regular season, TU is set to host Temple on Sunday, April 17th, and No. 27 SMU the following day. Temple is 11-8 in duals this year, but only 3-6 on the road, while SMU is 16-6 so far, including a perfect 6-0 on the road. The Mustangs have won five-straight matches, including wins over UCF, Memphis, and Tulane, and will host Rice and UT-Dallas on Saturday.
 
Tulsa will also host its lone senior, Tom Thelwall-Jones, prior to the match against SMU.
