Tulsa Golfers Earn AAC Honors

Lilly Thomas and Sydney Seigel claim all-conference accolades



IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa golfers, Lilly Thomas and Sydney Seigel, were named to the 15-member American Athletic Conference all-league team, it was announced today.

Thomas, from Bentonville, Ark., earned all-conference honors for the second consecutive season. As a junior this year, she has registered five top-20 performances in 10 tournaments including four top-5 finishes. She had a career-best second place showing at the Texas State Invitational with a 2-under par score of 214. Thomas also placed fifth at The Bruzzy, sixth at the Columbia Classic and seventh at the season-opening Samuel P. Golden Invitational.
 

In 30 rounds this season, Thomas has a 72.7 stroke average and has tallied six sub-70 rounds.
 

Sydney Seigel
A freshman from Phoenix, Ariz., Seigel garnered the all-conference award after placing among the top-10 at the American Athletic Conference Championship last week. She turned in a season-best seventh-place performance to lead Tulsa golfers at the league event. Seigel carded rounds of 76-75-73 for a 54-hole total of 224 on the par-72 Pinehurst No. 6 Course in North Carolina.

 

This year marked the second straight season that Tulsa had two golfers earn all-conference honors.
