TULSA, Okla. ― The University of Tulsa's Kody Pearson was one of 64 players selected to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championships, the NCAA announced today. The tournament will take place May 23-28 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois.

Pearson makes the singles championship for the second straight season, and it's the 29th time a Tulsa player has been selected for the NCAA singles championship. The Sydney, Australia product was an automatic qualification from the American Athletic Conference, and was ranked 48th in last week's ITA singles rankings, the highest in the conference.

Last year, Pearson was paired against the No. 3-seeded Hady Habib of Texas A&M in the first round, dropping 6-2, 6-1 to the Aggie's top player in the opening round.

In 2022, Pearson is 15-5 in singles play, all from No. 1 singles, and has posted a 3-1 record over ranked opponents during dual play.

Tulsa as a team was selected to the NCAA tournament last night for the 19th time in the past 27 years. The Hurricane will take on Texas A&M in the first round this Friday at 3 p.m. in Waco, Texas.
