
Former TU Star Marcelo Arevalo No. 10 in ATP World Rankings for Doubles

TULSA, Okla. — Fresh off his first Grand Slam victory with a win at the French Open Doubles Championship, former University of Tulsa tennis standout Marcelo Arevalo (El Salvador) is the World's No. 10-ranked player for doubles in the ATP rankings.
Arevalo and teammate Jean-Julien Rojer captured a 3-set win over the team of Austin Krajicek (USA) and Ivan Dodig (Croatia) in the French Open Doubles Championship Match on June 4. Arevalo became the first man from Central America to win a Grand Slam title, according to the International Tennis Federation.
Arevalo was a two-time letterwinner and all-conference performer for the Golden Hurricane. He was named C-USA Player of the Year and ITA Central Region Player to Watch as a sophomore. Arevalo compiled a career 29-14 singles mark and 30-11 doubles record during his tenure at Tulsa (2009-11).
