TU Student-Athletes End Academic Year with Success in the Classroom

TULSA, Okla. –– Success in the classroom continues to be the norm for student-athletes at The University of Tulsa. The 400-plus Golden Hurricane student-athletes ended the spring semester with a combined 3.18 cumulative grade point average.
 
For the entire academic year, a total of 15 Hurricane teams reached at least a 3.00 GPA, including 10 teams that turned in 3.30 GPA or better. In the spring semester, 236 athletes had above a 3.0 GPA and 69 students had a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
"We are extremely proud of our student-athletes for another strong year in the classroom. It's a credit to the hard work and dedication of those student-athletes who are committed to achieving success academically," said Vice President & Director of Athletics Rick Dickson.
 
The women's track & field team has the highest cumulative team grade point average for Tulsa's 10 female sports teams with a 3.68 GPA, while for the men the tennis team led the way with a 3.63 GPA.
