Three different players scored for Tulsa to give TU a 3-2 win over Missouri Sate on Sunday afternoon at the Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 2-1-1 on the season, while the Bears fell to 1-2-1 overall.

Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, September 1 against Central Arkansas beginning at 6:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

"It is always good to win on the road and get some momentum behind us," Head Coach Jim Rhein said.  "We played pretty well and having three different goal scorers was nice to see.  MSU had some rotations in the midfield that were difficult to pick up, but Maggie Symsmith anchored our midfield and did a great job.  Missouri State is a good team and will win a lot of games this year."

How It Happened:
Liliana Fernandez put Tulsa on the board at the 7:14 mark on a penalty kick, but Grace O'Keefe evened the score at with 30:00 on the clock as she also drilled in a penalty kick.

Karsen Aguirre had a top-corner finish off a pass from Liliana Fernandez to put TU up 2-1, a lead they would take into halftime.

Jordan Frederick had a great run down the line and a cross into Madison Tokarchik who punched the ball into the back of the net to extend the Golden Hurricane lead to 3-2.

Riley Smith pulled the Bears to within one with just under five minutes to play but MSU couldn't get the equalizer for the final 3-2 score.

Game Notes:
  • Emilie Torres and Madison Tokarchik both had a team-best two shots, all four of which were on goal for Tulsa.
  • Raegan Beeding logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up seven saves for the Hurricane
  • MSU outshot TU, 14-8, including a 9-6 lead in shots on goal
  • MSU had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks
