Tulsa's 10^th-ranked men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to 24^th-ranked FIU on Friday night at FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami, Fla. The Golden Hurricane fell to 3-1-1 on the season and 0-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Panthers moved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the league.

"We conceded a poor first goal and then the game came down to the final third," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We weren't good enough defensively and didn't take advantage of our chances. We certainly didn't have as many good performances as we needed, but FIU played very well. FIU came out to stop us and did a good job of that. We have to learn from this and be better in final moments."

Tulsa will return to action on Tuesday, September 20 against 17^th-ranked Missouri State beginning at 7:00 pm in Springfield, Mo.

How it Happened:
Stephen Afrifa put the Panthers on the board at the 6:40 mark. He picked up the free ball in the box, dribbled forward and shot up the middle from 12 yards out.

Julien Gastaldy gave FIU a two-goal cushion heading into the break as he dribbled around defenders in the box and shot from the left side to the lower right corner of the net at the 43:32 mark.

Afrifa added a third goal for the Panthers in the 59^th minute and neither team found the back of the net for the final 3-0 score.
