STILLWATER, Okla. — The Tulsa men's tennis team wrapped up action at the ITA Central Regional Championships Saturday evening at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater. Senior Pierce Rollins and sophomore Timothy Carlsson Seger made a run to the doubles semifinal, while true freshman Victor Tosetto finished the tournament as the singles runner-up in the consolation bracket.

Overall, the Tulsa men went 13-7 in singles play and 5-3 in doubles action.

Rollins and Seger were one of 19 seeded doubles teams to receive a first-round bye. Starting in the round of 32, they survived an 8-7 (7-5 tiebreaker) nailbiter over New Mexico's Alexander Maggs and Arda Azkara. They continued their momentum in the round of 16 and quarterfinal with consecutive 8-6 wins over Stefanos Savva and Bozo Barun (Arkansas) and Matija Matic and Oliver Johansson (Drake) to earn a spot in the semifinal, where they fell 6-4, 7-5 to Oklahoma State's Tyler Zink and Isaac Becroft.

A first-round loss in the Main Singles Draw put Tosetto in the consolation bracket. As the lone Golden Hurricane in the singles backdraw, the Porto Alegre, Brazil, product earned straight-set victories over Shunya Maruyama (Nebraska), Adam Behun (Saint Louis) and Matthew Lanahan (Creighton). His toughest battle of the tournament was against Lanahan, where Tosetto prevailed 7-6 in consecutive sets, each with 7-3 tiebreakers.

Following a walkover in the quarterfinal, Tosetto churned out a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Gustavo Pinho of Oral Roberts in the semifinal to earn a spot in the singles consolation championship. Oklahoma State's Erik Schiessl would claim the title over Tosetto in a 6-1, 6-4 result, leaving Tosetto as the consolation runner-up.

Tulsa found success in the early rounds of Main Singles Draw as four Hurricane men advanced to the round of 32, including Rollins, Seger, freshman Alex Okonkwo, and senior Volodymyr Zakharov. In an uncommon, but not an unusual coincidence for fall tennis tournaments, teammates Seger and Zakharov went head-to-head in the round of 32. It was Zakharov who prevailed 6-4, 6-3 to advance as the lone Tulsa athlete to the round of 16, where he would fall 6-0, 6-2 to No. 51 Isaac Becroft (Oklahoma State).
