TULSA’S BASKETBALL HURRICANE MADNESS IS THIS THURSDAY

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa is thrilled to announce that Hurricane Madness, an exciting FREE event designed to introduce and connect the Tulsa men's and women's basketball teams with the Tulsa community, will take place this Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Hurricane Madness promises to be an unforgettable night of interactive contests, fun and a chance to get to know the Golden Hurricane basketball players and coaches.
The doors of the Reynolds Center open at 5 p.m. and the evening kicks off with the opportunity for fans to watch the teams conclude their practice sessions. At 5:45 p.m. official festivities begin as both teams will be introduced, setting the stage for on-court contests where students and fans will have an opportunity to interact with the players.
For the men, the 2023-24 season marks a transformational era after a challenging 2022-23 campaign. With a mere two returners, sophomore Jesaiah McWright and senior Ari Seals, the team faces the task of rebuilding under Coach Konkol's guidance. Tulsa welcomes a mix of transfer players and promising freshmen, ushering in a fresh wave of talent and enthusiasm.
The Tulsa women are poised for an exciting 2023-24 season. Key returners Temira Poindexter, who was selected to The American' preseason all-conference team, and Delanie Crawford, were Tulsa's top scorers last year and both bring experience and leadership to the court for their junior seasons.
The excitement doesn't stop there. After the basketball festivities, fans can march or ride over to support the Tulsa women's soccer team and receive FREE Admission. The Hurricane women, who qualified for the American Athletic Conference Tournament Sunday with a 4-2 win over UAB, will close out the regular season Thursday on Breast Cancer Awareness Night against the nation's 10th-ranked Memphis Tigers. Start time is 7 p.m.
Hurricane Madness guarantees to be an evening filled with entertainment, interaction, and community spirit, bringing the Tulsa family together for an unforgettable experience.
