Tulsa Men’s Basketball Announces 2023-24 Nonconference Slate

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team will play a total of 12 non-league games in the 2023-24 season with nine of those being played at the Donald W. Reynolds Center, as the school announced the reminder of its schedule today. The American Athletic Conference schedule was announced previously.
The Golden Hurricane will play two other games in the state of Oklahoma, while its final nonconference road contest will be a four-hour drive to Little Rock, Ark.

"We're excited about the balance of our nonconference schedule," Tulsa Head Coach Eric Konkol said. "We were looking to start our season with some home games, and we're thrilled to open with four in front of our fans. Then we'll have some regional rivalry type games, opponents that our fans will recognize in Missouri State and Little Rock. Of course, we'll have the game for the Mayor's Cup locally, then we have the series with Oklahoma State at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, which is exciting. We're looking forward to playing games against teams coming off good seasons, teams with a lot of history and teams in our region."
Tulsa will open the season with four straight home games starting with Central Arkansas on Nov. 6. Games against Incarnate Word (Nov. 11), Jackson State (Nov. 16) and South Carolina State (Nov. 20). The Hurricane has a combined 13-0 record against those four teams.
A trip to Arkansas has the Hurricane facing Little Rock (Nov. 25) before returning to Tulsa for a contest against city rival Oral Roberts on the first Saturday of December (Dec. 2). Loyola-Chicago visits the Reynolds Center on Dec. 5 before Tulsa plays Oklahoma State at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Dec. 10.
Tulsa has a 7-5 series lead over Little Rock and has a 36-21 mark against ORU. After claiming an 85-66 neutral site win a year ago Tulsa evened the series against Loyola at 2-2. Tulsa and OSU played a year ago as the Cowboys have a 75-39 lead in the series.
Tulsa closes out the nonconference schedule with four straight home games in December with Missouri State (Dec. 16), Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 19), New Mexico State (Dec. 22) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (Dec. 29). Tulsa's history with Missouri State and New Mexico State dates back to when the schools were members together in the Missouri Valley Conference.
The Hurricane will open American Athletic Conference play in the Donald W. Reynolds Center against Memphis on Jan. 4 to start the New Year.
