TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's soccer team (4-8-2, 2-5 AAC) closes out the regular season against the American Athletic Conference's second-place FIU Panthers (9-3-3, 5-1-1 AAC) Wednesday night at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium.
Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., but fans are encouraged to arrive early for pregame ceremonies honoring Tulsa's senior class. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
It will be the final game for eight Hurricane seniors including Sergio Baena, Eshwar Challa, Mike Eijgendaal, Malik Henry-Scott Luke Jeffus, Paul Richnow, Cedrik Stern and Takayoshi Wyatt.
The injury-depleted Hurricane will look to snap a five-game losing streak in a season that has seen six of Tulsa's eight losses come by just one goal. Tulsa dropped two of those one-point losses 1-0 and fell 2-1 four times.
Seniors Baena, Henry-Scott and Eijgendaal are Tulsa's top three scorers, as Baena leads the way with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Henry-Scott, who has been sidelined the last six games with an injury, tallied nine points on four goals and one assist in the seven contests he played. Eijgendaal has scored six points for the Hurricane.
FIU's Eduardo Mustre comes into the game second in The American with 24 points on 11 goals and two assists.
FIU has already guaranteed its spot in The American's postseason tournament while Tulsa will need a win to have an opportunity to compete in the championship event.
