Tulsa Golfers Tee-Off Monday at the Icon Invitational

HOUSTON, Texas –– The Tulsa women's golf team will close-out the month of February at the 2023 ICON Invitational, Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 27-28. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the par 72, 6,392-yard Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.

Tulsa is coming off a season-opening third-place performance at the Columbia Classic earlier this month, where the Hurricane shot a 4-over par 580 total at the rain-shortened 36-hole event. Tulsa had four golfers finish among the top-15 with sophomore Sydney Seigel leading the way with a sixth-place performance, followed by 10^th place finishes by freshman Grace Kilcrease and senior Lilly Thomas and a 14^th place showing by freshman Jenni Roller.

Tulsa will go into the tournament with a team of senior Lilly Thomas, sophomores Sydney Seigel and Lovisa Gunna,r and freshmen Grace Kilcrease and Jenni Roller.

The 16-team ICON Invitational field has 12 teams ranked among the nation's top-50, including #10 Texas A&M, #11 USC, #18 Oklahoma State, #27 Iowa State, #28 SMU, #29 Texas Tech, #35 Tulsa, #37 Houston, #40 Tennessee, #43 NC State, #45 Maryland, #50 North Texas, as well as Charlotte, Illinois, Texas State and UTSA.

The first two rounds will be played on Monday with the final 18 holes set for Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start each day.

USC is the defending champion after turning in a score of 39-under par 825 a year ago, followed by Illinois, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Texas A&M to round out the top-5 finishers.

The individual champion of the ICON Invitational will receive a playing spot in The Chevron Championship Official Pro-Am on April 18. The Chevron Championship is the first LPGA Tour Major of the season, taking place at The Club at Carlton Woods, April 20-23.
