TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa track team will compete in the Windy City Invite and the Gorilla Classic this weekend. Both meets span from Friday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 11.

The Golden Hurricane will send 32 athletes—17 men and 15 women—to race in 15 events at the Windy City Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin in Chicago, Ill. Action for Tulsa begins with the men's 5,000-meter run at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Tulsa competed in the Windy City Invite last year, where Shay McEvoy (3,000m), Katharina Pesendorfer (Mile) and Christian Baker brought home first-place finishes. McEvoy's 7:56.32 finish in last year's 3,000-meter run is a facility record (Gately Stadium), and the Kilkenny, Ireland native will have a chance to defend his mark on Saturday.

TU will send six athletes to race in 8 events at Pittsburg State's Gorilla Classic. It is the third and final time the Hurricane will make the trip to Pittsburg, Kan. this season. The Hurricane starts at 3 p.m. Friday with the qualifying round of the women's 60-meter dash.

The meet will stream on the MIAA Network on both days.
