No. 55 Tulsa Drops 5-2 Decision at No. 27 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — The University of Tulsa men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision Tuesday against the No. 27 Texas A&M Aggies (9-7) at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station.
The loss drops the Golden Hurricane to 5-7 on the year.
TU came out strong to start the match, scoring the doubles point thanks to wins by Stefan Hampe and Ezequiel Santalla (6-2) in the No. 3 position and Timothy Carlsson Seger and Daniel Siddall (6-4) in the second position. Seger and Siddall are now 5-2 on the year and have won five of their last six matches.
Senior Kody Pearson highlighted singles action for the Hurricane at the No. 1 position. Against No. 31 Noah Schachter, 34th-ranked Pearson battled to a 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory to score Tulsa's lone point in singles play. He is now 5-0 against nationally ranked singles players, 9-1 at the No. 1 spot and 11-1 overall, which includes wins from nine of his last 10 head-to-head matches.
Tulsa returns to action in Dallas this weekend for a doubleheader with Mississippi Valley State (0-4) on Saturday, March 18 at noon and 4 p.m. Then, the Hurricane will battle No. 50 SMU (9-8) on Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m.
