TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa softball team, 7-8 on the season, opens the home season this weekend with the Annual TU/OSU Invitational, Friday-Sunday, March 3-5, at the Collins Family Softball Complex. The participating teams include Maine, No. 23-ranked Missouri, South Dakota State and Tarleton State.
 
On Friday, South Dakota State (9-6) and Tarleton State (11-7) will play games in Tulsa, while Maine (4-5) and Missouri (12-4) will play Friday games in Stillwater. The teams will flip sites for Saturday's contests.
 
South Dakota State and Tarleton State start off the Tulsa tournament slate with a 12 p.m. game on Friday, while Tulsa will follow with a matchup against Tarleton State at 2:30 p.m. and a 5 p.m. game against South Dakota State. On Saturday, Missouri and Maine face-off at 12 p.m., followed by Tulsa- Missouri at 2:30 p.m. and Tulsa-Maine at 5 p.m.
 
Tulsa and Missouri will close-out the tournament on Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. game.
 
Tulsa is looking to get back on a winning streak after a 2-3 record a week ago at the South Alabama Invitational. The Hurricane began the event with wins over South Alabama and Furman before dropping contests against Mississippi State, LA Tech and South Alabama.
 
As a team, the Hurricane is hitting .259 through 15 games with 102 hits, 66 runs scored and a .345 slugging percentage.
 
Tulsa center fielder Haley Morgan leads Tulsa offensively with a .469 batting average, 23 hits and eight RBI in 49 at-bats. She has hit safely in Tulsa's last 11 contests and has had seven multi-hit games. Shortstop Imani Edwards has a .333 average at the plate, while right fielder Kailyn Bearpaw hits .308.
 
Celeste Wood, who plays third base, has a team-high 12 RBI on 12 hits for a .279 batting average.
 
On the mound, Maura Moore, an NJCAA All-American at Crowder College last season, and sophomore Kylee Nash have made most of the pitching appearances for the Hurricane this season. Moore has a 4-2 record and 2.69 earned run average in 39 innings, while Nash has pitched 42.1 innings with a 3.14 ERA and 3-4 record.
 
Tickets can be purchased each day for $5. A one-day ticket will allow fans to see each game that day.
