Four Tulsa Men’s Tennis Student-Athletes Named Academic All-District

TULSA, Okla. — University of Tulsa student-athletes Adham Gaber, Stefan Hampe, Kody Pearson and Daniel Siddall were named to the 2023 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Gaber, a senior from Cairo, Egypt, maintains a 3.6 GPA in management. He held an overall singles record of 11-9, including an 8-3 mark across positions 3-5. Gaber won six of his last eight head-to-head matches at the No. 5 position for the Golden Hurricane. In doubles play, he earned his first national ITA ranking of 53 with teammate Ezequiel Santalla in the November 16 poll.
A senior from Wildberg, Germany, Hampe holds a 4.0 GPA in business. On the courts this season, he tallied 11 singles wins and nine doubles victories. In the fall, he advanced to the singles round of 32 during the ITA All-American Championships with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over then 83rd-ranked Franco Capalbo of Utah. He clinched Tulsa's 4-3 decision over South Florida with a 6-7(9), 7-5, 6-2 performance in his primary position at No. 2 Singles. In the back half of the dual match season, Hampe held down the No. 3 position in doubles play, winning four of his last five completed matches.
Pearson, a senior from Sydney, Australia, maintains a 3.978 GPA in exercise and sport science. A singles all-conference selection and two-time American Player of the Week this season, Pearson led the Golden Hurricane with a 14-6 overall singles record, including a 12-6 mark at the No. 1 position. He went 6-2 against nationally ranked opponents, including a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(2) victory over the country's then-ninth-ranked singles player at North Carolina's Allen Morris Invitational to open the spring season. He also clinched Tulsa's 4-3 decision over Nebraska with a 7-6(5), 7-5(4) victory. Pearson ranked as high as No. 28 in the ITA singles poll.
Hailing from London, England, Siddall has a 4.0 GPA in business. He went 12-12 in singles play, including a 5-4 record across the fifth and sixth positions. He clinched the Hurricane's 4-1 victory over UCF with a 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 score at Singles No. 6 during ITA Kick-Off Weekend. In doubles play, he found chemistry with freshman teammate Timothy Carlsson Seger. The pair held down the No. 2 position, going 8-4 together and securing the doubles point for TU against Memphis, Texas A&M, Wichita State and South Florida.
All four student-athletes leave Tulsa with 250 combined singles victories and 202 doubles wins.
