Tulsa’s Bowen McCloud Named The American Newcomer of the Week

TULSA, Okla. –– For the second consecutive week, a Tulsa player won the American Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week, as Bowen McCloud was announced the recipient by the league office today.
McCloud entered Saturday's matchup against Florida Atlantic to replace an injured Golden Hurricane and made the most of his opportunity, scoring what served as the game-winning goal in 2-0 victory. The freshman broke free of the man marking him and got on the end of a low cross from Will Edwards, slotting it first time past the keeper from six yards out.
Making only his second appearance, McCloud played 66 minutes and helped Tulsa get the win and the clean sheet.
Tulsa returns to action on Tuesday when the Golden Hurricane hosts Creighton at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
